海角社区 honors distinguished alumni
海角社区 recently named three new members to the Trailblazer Society, the college鈥檚 distinguished alumni program.
Tim Badger, class of 1969, is originally from St. Albans, Vermont, and currently resides in Queensbury. In 1972, Badger joined Glens Falls National Bank and Trust Company as a management trainee. He retired 45 years later in 2017 as the senior vice president of marketing, public relations and shareholder relations. He also served as corporate spokesman for the bank鈥檚 holding company, Arrow Financial Corporation. Badger holds an associate degree in Business Administration from 海角社区, a bachelor鈥檚 of science degree from the University at Albany and a master鈥檚 in business administration from the University of Vermont. Badger鈥檚 leadership has benefited many organizations, including the 海角社区 Foundation, Tri-County United Way, CWI, Queensbury Senior Center, Moreau Community Center, Adirondack Balloon Festival, Warren-Washington Counties Association for Mental Health and the ARCC. In 2011, he was named the Tri-County United Way Volunteer of the Year.
Jason Carusone, class of 1989, is from Lake George. Carusone鈥檚 distinguished academic career began at 海角社区 in 1987. He transferred to Binghamton University to earn a bachelor鈥檚 of arts degree in Political Science. He has a juris doctoral degree from Buffalo University School of Law. He returned to Warren County to work as a private attorney until 1999, when he became an assistant district attorney. In 2004, he was promoted to first assistant district attorney, a position he held for 13 years. He was elected to serve as Warren County district attorney in 2017. His distinguished service includes recognition by the Narcotic Enforcement Officers Association and the District Attorneys Association of New York.
Drew Schiavi, class of 2003, is from Malta. Schiavi earned an associate degree in Radio and TV Broadcasting at 海角社区 and was program director at WGFR, the campus radio station. He earned a bachelor鈥檚 degree in Broadcasting and Mass Communication from SUNY Oswego in 2005. He began his professional broadcasting career as a director and chief technical director for a variety of news and specialty programs at WRGB/WCWN 鈥� CBS 6 in Schenectady. In 2012, he became a master control operator at ESPN in Connecticut and became an associate director in 2014. Schiavi was part of a team that won an Emmy Award at the 37th Annual Sports EMMY庐 Awards for Outstanding Trans-Media Sports Coverage; College Football Playoff National Championship. Each year, Drew shares his experiences with current 海角社区 broadcasting students and has established a scholarship for broadcasting majors.
The college鈥檚 distinguished faculty selected the 2019 class from a competitive pool of nominations. Inductees demonstrated excellence in the areas of professional achievement, community service, service to 海角社区 and outstanding spirit.
