Financial Aid and Scholarships
How financial aid works
Most students use financial aid to help make 海角社区 more affordable. The process usually follows three simple steps:
Complete your applications
Fill out the FAFSA to be considered for federal aid, and submit a TAP application if you are eligible for New York state aid. These forms are the starting point for most grants, loans and campus鈥慴ased programs.
Review your award and documents
Once your applications are processed, you鈥檒l receive a financial aid offer that outlines the grants, scholarships, loans and work鈥憇tudy for which you might qualify. Read it carefully and respond to any requests from 海角社区 for additional forms or verification.
Finalize your plan and pay your bill
Work with the Financial Aid Office and the Business Office to confirm your aid, choose whether to accept loans, and set up a payment plan if needed. Together, you鈥檒l create a clear plan for how your tuition and fees will be covered before the semester begins.

Grants: Federal and New York State grants can help eligible students pay for college and generally do not have to be repaid.
Scholarships: 海角社区 and outside scholarships can reduce your costs without adding to what you need to repay. Each award has its own eligibility requirements.
Work-Study: Eligible students can earn wages through part-time campus jobs. Work-Study pay comes through a paycheck rather than automatically reducing your bill.
Loans: Student and parent loans can help cover remaining costs, but borrowed money must be repaid, usually with interest.
PLEASE NOTE: Changes were made to the Direct Loan program for the 2026-27 academic year.
